MARYVILLE, Mo. - Maryville city staff is looking at some new technology in the fight against Mozingo Lake algae blooms. Staff is looking at a solar raft produced by Sonic Solutions LLC.
It uses ultrasonic technology to kill algae in open bodies of water. City Manager Greg McDanel tells KXCV/KRNW that the city could potentially buy one to see its effects.
The cost of a singular raft is about $15,000. McDanel adds that they're still looking at capital improvements at the water treatment plant to combat algae problems.
